Under the MassHealth Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC) program, Mainstay provides personalized support to help you manage your daily needs with dignity and care. A Mainstay nurse will collaborate with you and your Primary Care Physician to develop a tailored Care Plan that addresses your specific activities of daily living (ADLs).
Mainstay Support Staff can assist with cueing and supervision in a variety of daily tasks, including:
- Grooming: Ensuring regular grooming routines are maintained.
- Dressing: Assisting with dressing appropriately for the weather and season.
- Personal Hygiene: Providing support with safe bathing/showering, ensuring thoroughness and regularity.
- Eating: Helping maintain a safe nutritional diet, considering factors such as weight management, food allergies, energy levels, and dental health. Assistance with feeding is also available.
- Bathroom Use: Promoting healthy bathroom habits, including thorough cleaning, hand washing, and leaving the space sanitary for others. Assistance with dressing/undressing is also provided.
- Mobility/Transferring: Supporting independent movement, whether walking from one location to another or transitioning from sitting to standing. Assistance with getting in and out of bed is also available.
For individuals with Seizure Disorders or a history of seizure activity, supervision is often needed during many of these activities to ensure safety and well-being.
This program is designed to support your independence while providing the assistance you need to live comfortably and confidently.
